Insta360 is back with a follow-up to the Insta360 One, called the Insta360 One X

Insta360 is asking its new One X camera a GoPro Hero7 killer due to its advanced omnidirectional motion stabilization. But we think that might be underselling it, due to the fact no GoPro can get the crazy, Matrix-style slow-mo pictures this aspect can take while you throw it right through the movement as you film.

In form, it is not varied to the first Insta360 camera we had a play with a couple of years ago: twin extremely-wide lenses both facet of a compact, skinny take care of that looks something like an oversized cigarette lighter. but things have moved alongside a few, as you’d assume.

For starters, the brand new One X films in 5.7 k resolution at 30 frames in line with second (fps). Now, in terms of presentation, even 4K is slightly turning into applicable to the extensive majority of users. however whilst you’re filming 360-degree video, after which only supplying part of that photo within the very last output, resolution is king and every pixel counts.

Insta360 ONE X 360 Action Camera Specification

Notwithstanding the nomenclature, this device is largely a whole different animal: it is formed in another way (more like a Ricoh Theta than a massive pill), it has a screen for less difficult mode choice, it uses a detachable battery and it uses the fast 5.8GHz 802.11ac WiFi for stay view plus speedy record transfers (though you may additionally use one of the bundled cables).

Most importantly, the One X features a higher 5.7K resolution for 360 video capture, while its “Bullet Time” mode — achieved by slowly swinging the camera above your head with a string or stick — is also enhanced to 3K with a wider field of view, but at a slightly reduced 100 fps speed. Understandably, you’ll be needing at least UHS-I V30 spec for your microSD card to capture these types of footage. Like before, you can also shoot Log video to get the most out of this camera.

On the other hand, still resolution is lowered from 24 megapixels to 18 megapixels, but it’s all for having larger sub-pixels on the sensor to achieve better image quality. As a bonus, there’s now HDR support as well, along with RAW mode like before.
