HMD Global – a Finnish company that licensed the rights to produce that Nokia brand smartphone confirmed in a tweet yesterday that three new Nokia branded smartphone will be coming to the United State this year. The company has not announced an exact date yet, but the smartphones will arrive sometime between April and June.
The three new upcoming Android devices are all mid-range smartphone unveiled at the Mobile World Congress MWC 2017 last month. The smartphones all feature as pure a version of the latest generation Android Nougat operating system as possible, meaning no third-party apps or UI customization involved, and the promise of regular security updates.
The Nokia 6 is the largest among the upcoming three devices, features a 5.5 inch display, 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of storage, and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The smartphone sports an eight megapixel front facing camera and a stunning 16 megapixel rear camera on the back of the phone and 3,000mAh battery. The matte black, silver, blue or copper color version of the smartphone will retail for $242. While the glossy black option will retail at $315.
The smaller Nokia 5 features a 5.2 inch IPS LCD display, 2GB of RAM along with 16GB of internal storage, and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa core processor. The smartphone will come with 13 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel shooter on the front of the device. The device boasts a 3,000mAh battery and will be priced at $199.
The smallest Nokia 3 sports a 5.0 inch display, 2GB of RAM plus 16GB of built-in storage, and powered by the MediaTek MT6737 quad core processor. Regarding the camera, the phone sports 8 megapixel sensor on both rear and front of the device. Under the hood, the phone packs a 2,650mAh battery and will priced at $147.
